Design + branding

Time to launch

The client
Founded in 2024 DragonFly harnesses Un-Manned Aircraft Systems (UAS) technology to deliver a range of services from topographic mapping, asset inspections, 3D modelling, and promotional imagery, the business was keen to make an impression at launch and to distinguish itself from a range of competitors from hobbyists to industry-specific firms.

Our approach
Working closely with the clients, we took the time to learn about the competitive landscape in which the business was to operate and gain an understanding about key components to include and to avoid. Creative progress was shared in stages to get buy-in along the way, with alternative options provided in each instance. This allowed for an efficient process, avoiding stagnation.

The solution
With the name already registered, we were gifted the opportunity to explore a core colour palette inspired by the iridescent nature of the animals' wings, with jewel-like colours given stand out against petrol blue backgrounds. With a desire for a logo mark to reflect both the business' name, and also what it does, we developed a series of custom illustrations to accompany a clear word mark. A distinct, memorable, and unique identity system was created and provided to the client as a 'toolkit' via which consistent brand communications could easily be created and distributed.

From the client
We were very pleased with how the team at Westgate understood our initial ideas, took the time to understand what we do and evolved this into reality.  It was very rewarding seeing our business coming to life.  At all stages Westgate understood what was important to us and represented this in their work. We are delighted with the end result for which we receive much positive feedback.
